Montana kicks butt

This is a story about a community getting together and basically rebuilding a family's house in a weekend.

Here is the program the girls were in last week and I did the video for.


NLCC Christmas Program

Really, what's the point of having a forest in your backyard and then going and buying a Christmas tree from a lot? There isn't one, so this afternoon we went on a Christmas tree hut in our backyard.

Finally bagged it! A beautiful little grand fir that was getting blocked out by a good sized cedar and a good sized pine.

I have two goals with Boinc.
1) Be in the top 1,000 of predictors
2) Successfully predict something

As of right now I'm at 1,390 in a pool of about 100,000 users. You could discount about 50k of those because they are people who have stopped using it or used it once and then did some other boinc project.

Yeah, I realize this means almost nothing to every single one of you reading this, but it's fun for me.

...and we've had a lot of ice, and yes, we can't drive up and down our hill right now in three of the cars.

But at least we're not in Southern California. Hey, I haven't bashed it in a long time so I've added a link on the right for a map of LA complete with gang areas -- straight from the LA Police Dept.

All of this to say that we are taking our vacation in Central and So Cal this year so hopefully we will see all of you in April. Hopefully we'll make it out alive.

I've put a link to the right for our Christmas list (in the links section) so that family members can see what we want. It makes shopping easier, but of course I am always willing to take donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of a present for myself. Don't get me wrong, I love presents, but I'm one of the most blessed people I know so I feel almost guilty if I get too many presents.
